Caring For Your SeparatorsWhen we are going to put bands on your teeth (usually only the upper 6 year molars) we need to be sure that the bands can be placed as comfortably and as accurately as possible. A few days before the bands are fitted, small little rubber elastics will be placed next to the teeth which will be banded, to make little spaces. While the separators are in place it will feel like you are biting on a trampoline whenever you bite down. You must take care to not eat any sticky foods, or use dental floss in those areas while the separators are in place, as they may come out. If the separators fall out, please call the office and we will advise you if the separators should be replaced or not. |
